Mika Lampi is the founder of Blue Apple, and first picked up a paint brush as a kid in school, while working in his family’s painting business back in the 1980’s in Melbourne. It wasn’t long before an apprenticeship as a painter/decorator followed. On graduation, Mika moved onto working with a number of commercial and residential painters. His leadership skills and natural talent with planning efficient projects, combined with his ability to deliver a high quality finish, quickly saw him promoted to foreman and tackling major projects including university and defence services sites. But Mika’s passion lay with house painting and smaller commercial painting projects, so he started his own highly successful business in Melbourne — so successful that there was often a 6 month waiting list to book a slot in their diaries. Mika then decided to take a break from the tools for a while and moved on to work with Dulux for a number of years as a paint Store Manager. In other words, Mika knows his paint inside and out. He knows what works and what doesn’t, and he knows exactly how to apply the different paint products to get maximum longevity and fabulous results. After one too many freezing winters, Mika moved to Queensland, picked up the paintbrushes again, and worked with local painters to better understand the impact of our unique weather conditions on paint, and how to best paint our fabulous Queenslander houses. He has now set up Blue Apple Painting and Decorating based at Narangba – looking after properties in the Moreton Bay and North Brisbane areas. Mika and the team of house and commercial painters at Blue Apple Painting and Decorating have already built up a reputation for their reliability, friendliness, skill with colour and high technical ability.
