At Aussie Painters Network, we value a safe work environment for our painters. For that reason, all of our painters must have been trained in safety measures and be aware of the risks associated with painting. That’s why delivering regular safety talks to our team is essential.

Here are some tips for delivering an effective safety talk:

1. Keep it simple and to the point – make sure your team understands what you’re saying by using language that everyone can understand.
2. Use visuals where possible – a picture speaks a thousand words! A visual aid helps people to comprehend new information better, so if you have access to posters or slideshows, use them.
3. Stress the importance of safety – always lead with why it’s so important to work in a safe environment and how taking precautions can benefit the team as well as the individual painter.
4. Ask for feedback – ask your team members if they have any questions or need more clarification on matters discussed during the talk.
5. Make sure to keep it up – safety talks should be an ongoing endeavour. Try to hold them at least once a month and ensure that all of your painters are kept up to date with the latest safety info.
